Mission statement of Welcome Home Project Inc.
Core Mission:
Welcome Home Project Inc. was created with the following core mission in mind.
Created to serve.
With this thought in mind, the mission of Welcome Home Project Inc. is to serve the veterans, and active service members of the armed forces and their families. To serve this purpose, the preliminary focus of Welcome Home Project Inc. will be to create safe, affordable housing to the veteran community which we will serve.
Thereafter, we will provide auxiliary services which will include health care, educational services, job creation and training, as well as opportunities for personal development.
The veterans of this country have put their lives on hold, and risked the safety and well-being of their families. They have provided the remainder of the citizens of the United States, the freedoms we enjoy, and so often take for granted.
In many cases these veterans have fallen through the cracks of society, and are the last to receive the benefits of the services they deserve from the rest of us. The VA organization as it exists today is underfunded, and overwhelmed. It leaves the veteran community it purports to serve, feeling isolated and forgotten.
No longer can we in this country turn a blind eye to this situation. We can no longer in good conscience, watch this happen without acting. Welcome Home Project Inc. is a non -profit with a small, proactive board of directors, which will react to the ever-changing climate of our communities. Before becoming involved at any level of Welcome Home Project Inc., all participants must acknowledge that they are, and were:
